Happy New Year! I hope everyone is enjoying this time of year, maybe connecting or reconnecting with friends and family. What shall 2026 bring?? How about going back to the Moon… I’m not sure if anyone ever did go to the Moon in the first place and maybe we will never know. Anyways, it is said that the Artemis II crew will be flying around the Moon, but not landing on it. Ok, 😂, let’s go!
This post explores the number 201 in the context of the two NASA programs, Apollo and Artemis. There’s cool connections that I hope you find enjoyable, fascinating, or at least interesting!
201 Background
As far as I have gathered, the number 201 is associated with the Jesuit Order (a Roman Catholic Priestly Order) as a stamp of sorts and has pre-Christian hermetic roots. I won’t dive too deep but a few 201 examples can be seen with the Jesuit Order history: It’s founder’s name is Ignatius of Loyola which sums to 201 Ordinal. The Jesuit Order = 201 Reverse Ordinal. And let us remember the late Pope Francis, the first Jesuit pontiff.
The Pope’s birth name is: Jorge Mario Bergoglio = 201 Ordinal He lived in Suite 201 in the apartment building named: Domus Sanctae Marthae = 201 Ordinal The name is Latin for: Saint Martha’s House = 201 Latin Ordinal
Another interesting fact is that the timespan between St. Martha of Bethany’s feast day and the birthday of Pope Francis is 20 weeks and 1 day. (7/29 – 12/17). Go figure 😀.
Before digressing anymore 😅, and to recap, the number 201 intrinsically represents 2 in 1 and can have various dualistic and often wondrous meanings. Now, how about our beloved Moon?
Apollo & Artemis
The names Apollo and Artemis both remind us of the moon, because NASA named its past and current moon missions. Then of course is the mythological sense. Apollo, a sun god, is associated with the sun, light, music, prophecy, and archery. NASA official Abe Silverstein proposed it in 1960, inspired by a mythology book. He liked the vivid image of Apollo riding his chariot across the sky, symbolizing the program’s grand, illuminating scale.[1]
Apollo & Artemis/Diana are brother and sister twins. Hmm, twins are intrinsically “two in one”.
Who sees the half moon of Artemis? 😉
The twin sibling connection also creates a link between the two eras of lunar exploration – Another big “two in one”!
Even the word Apollo = 201 Agrippa Key. Apollo also sums to 666 in the Fibonacci Cipher, which is super interesting in the Sun related context!!🌞
Speaking of the Sun, here is a solid example of two-in-one with Greek Isopsephy that fits nicely in the context of the Sun and Moon:
Total Solar Eclipse in Greek is ολικη εκλειψη Ηλιου and sums to 201 Greek Ordinal.
The Moon Landing Conspiracy
Someone recently sent me an old comedy skit from Mad TV that aired in 2000. It guest starred George Carlin and discussed the 1969 moon landing as a hoax on the world.
Well, it got me thinking about that event again and was the impetus to write this post. I fell back down into the Stanley Kubrick rabbit hole and recalled 911 stuff and movie associations. I collected myself so not to get engrossed with reality versus presented reality, and instead focused on 201 and try to make some sense on why the number is relevant.
Lunar Mission 201’s
Here are several clues that I found that show an Apollo and Artemis association to 201:
1. The Moon Landing Date
The first big clue is the date of the moon landing, July 20, 1969. It’s the 201st day of the year.
2. The First to Walk on the Moon
It can be said that the most famous astronauts of all time was Neil Armstrong. He was the first man to walk on the surface of the Moon. His full name, Neil Alden Armstrong, sums to 201 Ordinal in English Gematria.
Armstrong was raised in the Presbyterian faith, but not much is known about his religious life. It is interesting that he died 201 days before Pope Francis was elected! (8/25/12 – 3/13/13)
3. First Apollo Mission
The Apollo mission began with AS-201… 😆 It was the first uncrewed test flight of the rocket and CSM (Command Service Module).
4. The Crewed Artemis II Launch
Get ready for the crewed Artemis event in 2026! The announcement was made on December 29, 2025.[2] That’s 12/29, perfect because 1229 is the 201st prime number. Noteworthy at least, although no actual date has been given (how they tease) … it’s a window from Feb to April.
1229, the 201st prime
I wonder how much media attention the launch will get? It’s a pretty diverse crew so that fact may get it extra views.
Artemis crew selection – for glory or virtue signaling? Maybe both.
And go figure that “Artemis II Mission” sums to 201:
Here is a little bonus English gematria :
Thirty-five craters on the moon are named for Jesuit scientists and mathematicians. – Thomas E. Woods Jr. [3]
